        Graduate Students

Students enrolled for their M.Sc and PhD programmes in various universities around the world come to the Bioscience Center to work on research projects connected with their thesis.

        NYSC

In the Nigerian educational system, graduates who complete their programmes from Universities and polytechnics are required to undergo a mandatory one year national service which involves their being posted to different organizations to work and gain experience before going out into the real job market. We accept a few of these candidates every year hence contributing to the national good and also help to give the young graduates thorough grounding in molecular and cell biology. We also retain a few of these “Youth corpers” after their service year.

        IT Students

The Nigerian educational system also makes it mandatory for University and polytechnic students who are in the middle of their programmes to gain course related experience before continuing their studies. This involves posting them to various institutions and some come to the bioscience Center for this exposure lasting from three months to one year.

Individual TrainingBiotechnology education with good practical backup is still scarce in Sub Sahara Africa as most institutions lack the facilities for practicalising what is taught. Many individuals approach us to fill this gap and we therefore take them in for training in specific areas relevant to the work they are doing or in some cases give general introductory training with hands on bench experience that would instill confidence when these individuals have to actually practice molecular biology techniques.
